SEQUEL MERCH

BRIEF
Sequel Tea is a boba shop beloved by both college students and community members in San Luis Obispo. I noticed that the store did not offer any merch to customers, so I approached the owners and offered to design merch to promote their brand and reach their loyal fanbase.
PROCESS
From the jump, the owners wanted to incorporate the pre-existing logo and logotype in the merch. They emphasized that the merch must match the brand aesthetic, which is minimal, bold, and clean. This ruled out any use of illustrations, so I focused on experimenting with the placement of elements as well as the use of physical tags.
SELECTION AND COLORS
The owners ultimately decided to go with the third option: the shirt with the leaf tag on the sleeve. Together, we then decided on the colors for the shirts. The brown one is our personal favorite, as the hue is similar to Sequel's famous house milk tea.
FINAL PRODUCT
In addition to designing, I was in charge of shooting and editing photos of the products. Working alongside my friend, Amber Lee, we reserved a studio and set up Profoto strobes to take these shots.
RESULTS
Sequel Tea received more than 30 pre-orders for merch in one weekend. Customers can now purchase merch at any time at Sequel Tea's physical store location in San Luis Obispo.
